    How to participate?

The Win $2,500 on the purchase of a Mercier wood floor! contest by Mercier Wood Flooring runs from October 15 to November 15, 2021, and includes a registration period that ends on November 30 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern time).

To participate, consumers must have purchased a Mercier wood floor of 500 sq. ft. or more from a Mercier retailer in Canada between October 15 and November 15, 2021. They must register on the Mercier Wood Flooring website, Promotion section, using the contest entry form. The registration period is effective from October 15 to November 30, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern time).

    Registration

The participating consumer will have to fill out the entry form with his or her usual personal information as well as the information concerning the purchase of his or her Mercier flooring. Only registrations made online and using the form provided for this purpose will be eligible. To be considered valid, the entry form must be duly completed and the participant must have formally accepted the contest rules. If any of these criteria are not met, the entry will be rejected.

The draw to determine each winner will take place on February 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. (Eastern time), at Mercier Wood Flooring' head office located at 330 rue des Entrepreneurs in Montmagny, Quebec, Canada.  The draw will be made among all the participants of the same territory, one for Quebec, one for Ontario, and one for the rest of Canada (which includes the Western provinces and the Atlantic provinces).

Following the draws of the three presumed winners, a verification will be made with their respective retailer in order to validate that the invoice for the flooring purchased has been paid in full before February 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. (Eastern time) and that the minimum number of square feet has been reached. If the flooring order was cancelled, not paid in full at the time of the draw or does not meet the minimum quantity required, a new draw will be held to determine a new winner for that territory.

    Eligibility

The contest is open to all individuals aged 18 years and over residing in Canada. Employees, retailers and/or representatives of Mercier Wood Flooring, or of any party directly or indirectly related to the contest, as well as, respectively, all persons with whom they are domiciled, are excluded from participation. The contest is intended for consumers only, and excludes any contractor, architect or designer. Any winner who does not comply with these eligibility requirements will be automatically disqualified. Only one entry per Canadian mailing address permitted.

    To be won

Three prizes of $2,500 will be randomly awarded to consumers who have registered for the contest, purchased a Mercier wood floor of 500 sq. ft. or more and registered on the Mercier Wood Flooring website within the specified dates. Mercier will award one winner in Quebec, one winner in Ontario and one winner in the rest of Canada (including the Western and Atlantic provinces).

Prizes cannot be exchanged or transferred to another person. Prizes cannot be awarded for returned merchandise.

    Awarding of prizes

The draw to determine each winner will take place on February 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. (Eastern time), at the Mercier Wood Flooring head office located at 330 rue des Entrepreneurs in Montmagny, Quebec, Canada.

The 3 presumed winners will be contacted by email within 48 hours of the draw. They will have to respond within 48 hours to the message received and formally accept their prize. The names of the 3 winners will then be announced on Mercier's website and social networks. The impossibility of contacting the winner or the refusal to accept the chosen prize as is and whatever the reason invoked for such refusal, releases Mercier from any obligation and implies that a new draw will be held. No compensation for such refusal can be claimed and the prize will be cancelled. In addition, before being declared a winner, each eligible entrant will be required to provide 2 pieces of government-issued photo identification attesting that he/she has reached the age of majority and his/her residential address.

Each winner will receive a $2,500 check issued by Mercier Wood Flooring.

The prize must be accepted as described in these rules and may not, at the request of the winner, be substituted for another prize, transferred to another person or applied to a floor purchase. No substitution or assignment of prize will be permitted.

    General

By entering this contest, the winners authorize the organizers and their representatives to use, if required, their name, photograph, image and/or voice to inform, through all media, that they are winners of the contest, without any form of compensation.

Entries obtained by fraudulent or falsified means, forged, incomplete or late due to technical or computer problems or any other error or reason may, at the sole discretion of Mercier Wood Flooring, be cancelled.

Mercier Wood Flooring reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend this Contest at its sole discretion if a technical malfunction, computer virus or bug, unauthorized human intervention, fraud or any other occurrence or cause beyond its control corrupts or adversely affects the administration, security, fairness or normal operation of the Contest, subject in Quebec to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux.
Mercier Wood Flooring reserves the right to contact the retailer from whom the floor was purchased, to verify the conformity of the entry, the number of square feet and the payment of the floor before issuing the winners their prize.

The winner releases the contest organizers, its advertising and promotional agencies, their employees, agents and representatives from any and all liability for any damage that he/she may suffer as a result of accepting or using his/her prize.

If any section of these rules is declared or deemed illegal, unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, then that section will be considered invalid, but all other unaffected sections will be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by law.

All issues and disputes concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforcement of these Official Rules or the rights and obligations of an eligible entrant in connection with the Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws of the Province of Quebec and Canada.
